GROUND GROOVES VIRTUAL WORKSHOP

BEGINNING LEVEL

Wednesdays 9-10am PST (June 7, 14, 21, 28) on Zoom

Ground Grooves is a floorwork class emphasizing continuous and fluid movement from a methodical and safe approach. Designed for people who are new to floorwork but have some movement experience of any kind, this workshop emphasizes building tools and coordination to safely execute fundamental floorwork movements.

Limited to a small group, this virtual workshop will emphasize community, personal feedback, and building on concepts from week to week.

This workshop is for you if:

-you have a movement practice (yoga, martial arts, etc)

-you are new to floorwork and/or dance

Upon completion of the workshop, participants can expect to gain:

-a greater sense of coordination in common floorwork movements

-increased awareness of weight placement

-more control and fluidity in movement transitions

Participants can expect to experience:

-a relaxed environment where everyone can participate with joy and curiosity

-ample personalized guidance

-connection with other movers in a non-judgmental learning space

-a concentrated focus on movement concepts to improve efficiency and prevent injury

-low-impact alternatives that build towards more challenging movements

-guided written self-reflection
